Ironhorse Resources, Inc. Announces Acquisitions

O’Fallon, IL – August 1, 2020 – Ironhorse Resources, Inc. announced the acquisition of assets from Boarder to Boarder Trucking, Inc. in Edinburg, Texas.  The acquired assets include a 10-acre full-service truck terminal, and 60 truck trailers.  These assets will be operated under IHR Transport, LLC, which has current operations based in Houston and Donna, Texas.  In addition to the asset acquisition, IHR Transport has announced the hiring of 35 employees from Boarder to Boarder Trucking.  The employees include company drivers, administrative office staff, dispatchers, and mechanics.  Boarder to Boarder Trucking was founded in 1984 by J.W. Thomas, and after 36 years as one of the most respected transportation companies in Texas, it ceased operations on July 31, 2020.

Comments on the Edinburg, Texas Facility

IHR Transport Director of Trucking, Brian Bourgoyne, noted, “The first-class facility built over the years by Boarder to Boarder Trucking will provide much needed vertical integration through a full-service mechanical shop, fueling/wash stations, trailer storage facility and administrative office space.  The addition of highly experienced mechanics, dispatchers and administrative personnel from Boarder to Boarder Trucking’s respected team will make this a seamless transition for IHR Transport.”

Ironhorse Resources, Inc. Announces Acquisitions

O’Fallon, IL – April 8, 2019 – Ironhorse Resources, Inc. announced the asset acquisition of the Sequatchie Valley Railroad (SQVR) and the Walking Horse and Eastern Railroad (WHOE).  The Tennessee based railroads will be renamed Sequatchie Valley Switching Company (SQSC) and the Walking Horse Railroad (WHRR).  The transaction becomes effective immediately.

“As we’ve continued to pursue growth and acquisitions throughout our franchise, we have specifically targeted growth in TN to bolster our operational efficiencies and marketing presence in the region.  The addition of SQSC and WHRR will add diversification to our commodity base, increase our relationship with the CSX, and additionally provide the ability to market industrial sites available on both railroads and rail connectivity to the Tennessee River,” IHR President Matt Cundiff said.  The SQSC & WHRR are welcome additions to the IHR family of transportation and development interests.

 About the SQSC and WHRR Railroads

Sequatchie Valley Switching Company is an 11.5-mile shortline railroad serving south central Tennessee from a connection with CSXT at Bridgeport, AL.

SQSC was originally part of the Jasper Branch Railroad that was authorized for construction in 1860.  SQVR took over in the mi 1990’s and now runs from Bridgeport, AL to near Jasper, TN.

Walking Horse Railroad is an 8-mile short line railroad serving middle Tennessee from a connection with CSXT at Wartrace, TN.

WHRR was completed in 1853 by the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad, which then became the Louisville and Nashville Railroad.  When the Seaboard System Railroad abandoned the line in 1985, the Bedford Rail Authority bought the line and designated the WHOE to operate it.

Ironhorse Resources announces acquisition of the San Pedro and Southwestern Railroad

St. Louis, Missouri – October 17, 2018 – Ironhorse Resources is proud to announces the addition of the San Pedro and Southwestern Railroad to Ironhorse Resources family.

The Arizona based railroad will be renamed the San Pedro Valley Railroad (SPV) effective immediately.

“The San Pedro Valley Railroad is a valuable regional franchise serving a diverse customer base and is a natural fit to our franchise,” IHR President Matt Cundiff said. “Excellent safety practices and customer service have been the railroads primary focus. We will continue these initiatives with a focus on regional business development.”

Ironhorse is On Track at the Border

Buys 1,244 Acres in Santa Teresa for Development

 

 

Santa Teresa, NM — Today, Ironhorse Resources, Inc. announced the purchase of 1,244 acres in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The Santa Teresa region, located on New Mexico’s border with Mexico, has been one of the fastest growing industrial areas in the Southwest.

“We expect business development in the Southern New Mexico / El Paso / Juarez, known as the Borderplex region, will occur around Santa Teresa.  We’re located adjacent to Union Pacific’s Intermodal & refueling terminal and we are connected to a heavy-haul truck corridor with direct access to Juarez.  We are now poised to offer build-to-suit rail solutions for all sizes of industries (big or small)”, said Jeff Baskett, Executive Vice President of Ironhorse Resources.

Ironhorse Resources, Inc., through its affiliate, IHR Holdings, LLC (“Ironhorse”) bought the remaining 1,244 acres of development property in the Santa Teresa Rail Park in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The Ironhorse subsidiary, Santa Teresa Southern Railroad, is the rail operator with a direct connection to Union Pacific Railroad.

Santa Teresa Southern Railroad is unit train capable and has been serving the region since opening in 2012 and now handles rail shipments of Corn Syrup, Feed Grains, Scrap Metal, Windmill Blades and a variety of other commodities.
