Ironhorse Resources has established a new enterprise, Gulf Coast Rail Services, dedicated to operating the Port and Rail terminal situated along the Calcasieu River in West Lake, LA. The new terminal is located on 105 acres of industrial land with direct access to the Calcasieu River.
The array of services provided by Gulf Coast Rail Services will encompass:
Railcar Switching and Handling
- On demand railcar switching to meet customer requirements.
Railcar Storage
- The terminal currently can accommodate 400 railcars, with future plans to increase capacity by an additional 200 railcar spots. The terminal is secured with fencing and features a fire suppression system, coupled with in track spill containment measures.
Transloading
- Facilitating the seamless transfer of dry and liquid bulk commodities through various modes:
- Rail to Truck
- Truck to Rail
- Rail to Tank
- Tank to Rail
- Rail to Barge
- Barge to Rail
Bulk Liquid Tank Storage
- The existing site provides storage capacity for 300,000 barrels of bulk liquid, with future expansions aimed at accommodating an extra 2 million barrels.
Stevedoring/ Tanker Services
- Public dock offering loading and unloading services for barges and small vessels.
Railcar Repair and Cleaning
- Leveraging a third-party service, Gulf Rail Services will deliver railcar cleaning and repair solutions.
